- Perth Linux Users' Group
Provides news, support, an email discussion list and events
including monthly workshops and seminars.
- The Society of Linux Professionals (Western Australia) Inc is a professional association that assists computer consultants, business owners, or those that work in the public sector to use and promote open-source software including GNU/Linux.
- OpenSource WA works with government agencies and business to "investigate the potential opportunities afforded by the use of innovative software systems to drive interoperability and other efficiencies". OpenSource WA is also home to the Open Source Demonstration Centre.
Environment
- We "get in the loop" to:
- reduce the amount of e-waste that goes into landfill by
extending the life of the computer,
- reuse decomissioned computer equipment that has been donated
because of a corporate upgrade path, and
- recycle components from non-functioning equipment by partnering
with an e-waste group.
